"The first camp out of 2008 was a huge success as the troop ventured to Anza Borrego. The highlight of the weekend was the hike to the Palm Oasis. Along the five mile route we saw the Visitors Center, Big Horn Sheep, a Palm Oasis, waterfalls, a Mountain Lion track and lots of desert plants. In camp, we had scout skills, Badmitten, Bocce and of course great food. Warm weather and clear nights made for some great scenery. At sunset, out came the telescope and the boys had an opportunity to see the Moon, Saturn, Orion Nebula, Mars, Andromeda Galaxy, Sirius and many more heavenly objects.
